also seen: Art Cheerleaders

Today’s RTD has a piece about the Art Cheerleaders (”part performance artists, part crusaders”) cheering demonstration and bake sale in front of Gallery5 last night.

Hey! Thanks for noticing us! The mission of the Art Cheerleaders is to advocate for arts funding and raise awareness about the “State of the Arts in the United States”, all through humor. People listen to you when you’re funny! Visit the website at http://www.oliverfinearts.com to learn more…thanks for your support!! -Rebecca G Oliver, captain :)

FYI, the Art Cheerleaders had their debut performance at the VMFA on Thursday and it went great! We also did some improv and performance at Plant Zero on Friday with Harry Kollatz, Jr. and Amie Oliver, and the videotape will be played continuously for the next few months. Our next public performance will be Nov. 9th (friday) at 8pm, at the Canal Club. We are co-sponsoring an event with world-class independent animator Bill Plympton. Bill will discuss and screen his new film, Idiots and Angels, and produce a drawing for each and every ticketholder! We’d love to see you there! -Rebecca Oliver, art cheerleaders captain
