serve healing and coffee
The RTD has a profile of Common Groundz, the coffee shop at 734 West Broad. Opened in April by recovering drug addicts, they are helping one another stay clean and hope they can encourage locals to get their buzz from caffeine instead of drugs or alcohol.

What a great space in the heart of the new Urban Richmond!
I’ve lived within 5-block since they opened and just got around to visiting today when an ‘out of towner’ suggested meeting there. I was amazed … great spacious, inviting … pick the adjective or phrase that make you want to go in and stay a while.
The coffee, tea, and other beverages are plentiful and varied, The food menu is just as varied. I didn’t have one of the food selections opting instead for a refreshing iced afternoon coffee that was wonderful. The sandwichez that were delivered to other patrons looked great and nicely presented on the rectangular plates … please note the word plates!
Bravo for such a great space to chill … or warm up. I plan to return to sample everything Common Groundz has to offer in beverages and food selections …. should take me a while before I would need to repeat a combination!
