Bey seeking 2nd District Council seat
The RTD has a list of people who have already submitted papers with the city’s office of the general registrar indicating that they will run for office this November. Candidates have until June 10th to file. So far, Tyrone Bey is the only candidate for the 2nd District City Council seat being vacated by Pantele in his bid for mayor, and no challengers have stepped forth for 2nd District School Board Representative Lisa Dawson.
Without contact information for Tyrone Bey, let me post here an open invitation for an interview. Hit me up at murden@gmail.com.

I know that Krista Mathis Samuels husband (just met him for the first time on Wednesday) is running for the 2nd district seat. They were collecting signatures to get on the ballot at the Bill Pantele fundraiser. Unlike the Mayor’s race I haven’t made a decision yet. One thing is for sure, there is going to be a huge turnover in City leadership this year, Mayor, Council President, 2nd District, School Board chairman among others.
richmond.com’s Who’s Running for Council? has some info about Bey:
This guy seems very grassroots and he is young and works and lives among the people he hopes to represent. John, I do hope you set up an interview with him. Nice to see young adults running for office.
