perhaps the VCU police now have better things to do than speed trap on Leigh Street
Much has been made of the shooting of VCU student in Carver last week. How nice of VCU students to wander into Richmond’s violence and get people to pay attention, as otherwise folks not right up on it tend not notice. Perhaps now the VCU police can find more police-like things to do than speed trap on Leigh Street or to give tickets for expired inspection stickers.

Boo Hoo… GROW UP. Pay your traffic ticket and quit whining. Even if they were doing something else “police-like” does not mean they could have prevented the shooting. Oh and you would be the FIRST to scream “where’s an officer running radar” if your family member was hit by a speeder on Leigh!
You must have me confused with someone else.
@tcr, i got stopped by VCU police at a road block, didnt have my liscence with me so then they tell me to park my car in an area they just marked off as a no parking area and then my car gets towed. Then you go get yolur car the next day and the great non-corrupt towing company charges you two days storage because they can, and then I’m out $200. Thanks VCU police. Roadblocks are unconstitutional, they have no probable cause to stop you on a public street. They assume youre a lawbreaker. Wake up pople before we lose all our freedoms and towing companies rule the world.
In response for the question of constitutionality of roadblocks, first and foremost, all U.S. courts agree that they are legal. So if you feel that it is unconstitutional, I would try harder to get onto the Supreme Court and wait until the end of your term to even hear a case of that stupidity. Next, let’s think of this, roadblocks are advertised in most of the local media, so it is your own fault when you wonder into them. Third, how about we review VA code and if you do not have your license, you cannot drive, hence why your car was towed. I know police are not the best people out there, but in this city their job is hard enough. So next time, do a little research before you blame the PD for you own faults.
