The Lucent Phoenix Community Library in Jackson Ward will be holding an open meeting on Tuesday November 11th from 3-6PM for anyone who is interested in volunteering with the community library and picking up some open hours. Even if you’re not sure if you can dedicate anytime to open hours, come and check out the space and say hello. [via]

Here are a few things the Lucent Phoenix Community Library needs:

• Volunteers for Open Hours 12noon - 3pm & 3pm - 6pm shifts.
• Volunteers to watch the space during special events (ie. musical events in
  the evening, etc.)
• Someone who’d like to build us a sandwich board to display out front.
• Volunteers to help organize and catalog the books.
• Volunteers to help distribute fliers for the library and special events.
• Organizers/promoters of special events and workshops that can happen in the library.
