Gallery 5 puts the call out for funding help
With their 4th anniversary right around the corner, Gallery 5 has put the word out that they are in serious need of monetary support in order to keep this valuable historic and artistic resource up and running.

Sylvia Place approved, Samuels has it both ways
The proposal for Sylvia Place passed unanimously at last night’s city council meeting. The RTD has at least twice noted that Second District Councilman Charles R. Samuels abstained from voting on this “because his wife had done legal work for Carver residents on the Sylvia Place proposal”, but fails to mention that Samuels has also received money from the developers of the project. Where is the conflict, exactly?

Councilman Samuels to hold his first meeting
On Thursday, March 26th, 2nd district councilman Charles R. Samuels will be holding his first meeting since being elected at Richmond Police’s 4th Precinct building (2219 Chamberlayne Avenue). Items on the agenda: his goals and accomplishments and light refreshments. Hmmm. I wonder where this issue falls on that agenda.
The meeting is scheduled to go from 6:00 to 7:30pm. All 2nd district constituents are invited to attend.

man shot 2X at 1st and Baker
A man was shot in the leg and arm on Friday evening just after 11PM at the intersection of 1st and Baker Streets after resisting a black male with a handgun:
The suspect fled after the gun went off. Police say the victim went back to his car and proceeded to try and drive when he noticed he had been shot in the right arm and right leg.

Richmond Police are searching for two men suspected of shooting two people this afternoon in the 1200 block of St. John Street.

police seek suspect in yesterday’s double shooting
The Richmond Police Department needs the public’s help in locating Shawn Jeahvon Singleton in connection with yesterday’s shootings of two people on St. John Street. Singleton, 32, of the 6900 block of Merriewood Ridge Drive, is wanted for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possessing of a firearm by a convicted felon. Singleton is a black male, approximately 5’10 and 280 pounds.
