drypoint workshop by Art On Wheels
A printmaking technique developed during the Middle Ages from the metalworking techniques of goldsmiths and armorers, drypoint was used by some of the most famous printmakers in history, including Rembrandt, Durer, and Goya. This technique evolved into etching, a highly regarded process still used today. In this class by Art On Wheels, students will create their own drypoint. Stencil Workshop by Thea Duskin of Ghost Print Gallery
Stencil making is a time tested method of image reproduction useful for many surfaces ranging from fabric to paper to walls. The workshop will be divided into beginner and intermediate sections. Thea will be teaching bristol board stencil techniques, using a stencil knife, and mylar stencil techniques, using both knives and burners. All one needs to bring is an image, if desired. No sign-up necessary. Materials provided. 3/14 4PM $5 @ Gallery5.
