Sector 412 report for June

Lieutenant Morley’s monthly report from June (PDF) for the Richmond Police Departments Sector 412 (which cover Carvers and a big chunk of Northside) is now available.

On June 12, the 7-11 Store at 2808 Chamberlayne Avenue was robbed by an individual who fled the scene on a moped. A description of the suspect was quickly obtained and broadcast by responding officers. Officers Marc Troy of the Midnight Shift was able to spot a suspect matching the description in the Carver area. With the assistance of the V.C.U. Police, he was able to stop the suspect, who was arrested for robbery.

Sector 413 report for April

Lieutenant Drews’s monthly report (PDF) for the Richmond Police Department’s Sector 413 is now available (PDF). The report includes a few “most wanted”, a list of narcotics arrests in the area, and several “Significant Arrests” that include”

A citizen called to report that he had just encountered someone breaking in to his home at 402 W. Clay St. The citizen struck the suspect several times with a baseball bat and chased him out of his home. He was able to give a great description of the suspect and he was apprehended at 2nd & Leigh just moments later by Officer Steve Thomas. Robert White was charged with burglary.

2 teens arrested for robberies

Two unidentified teens, ages 14 qnd 15 years old, have been arrested in a series of armed robberies along the VCU & Broad Street corridor over the past few days. A police representative quoted in the RTD said the teens also face “numerous other pending charges”, including a robbery last Sunday at Clay and Adams Streets. [via]

shooting on Charity Street

Leonardo Robinson, 18, of the 1400 block of Minefee Street, was shot to death yesterday 200 block of West Charity Street at about 6:50PM. The police declined to release any further details. [via]

assault @ Kinney and Clay

A reader has written about being assaulted yesterday at around 2PM at the intersection of Kinney and Clay:

I was walking up the street … toward Kroger and saw these three black teenagers standing on the NE corner of the intersection of Kinney and Clay… they moved toward me and one of them crossed the street and was walking toward me. As I passed I said hello and as soon as our eyes met this one was punching my head. [...] They wanted my wallet and were asking/demanding I give it to them. One of the others came in and started hitting my head also. I was able to get some blows in and had to laugh when the guy who had initiated the assult complained for me to stop pulling on his shirt.

Sector 412 report for March

Lieutenant Morley’s monthly report (PDF) for the Richmond Police Department’s Sector 412 (which cover Carvers and a big chunk of Northside) is out:

At the end of March 2008, motor vehicle thefts were down 33% for the year. Robberies were down 73%. Residential burglaries were unfortunately up from 12 in 2007 to 26 in 2008 for an increase of 116%. Burglaries to sheds and outbuildings were up from 2 to 3 for the period. Thefts from motor vehicles were up 82%.

Sergeant William Phibbs of the Day Shift investigated a call of an individual selling drugs on Moore Street. Good investigative techniques led to an arrest for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

A man and a woman were both shot in the leg at about 3:45PM yesterday afternoon in the Gilpin area. According to the police, the victims were walking down Federal Street when the shots were fired. [via]

shooting on First Street

A man was shot shot to death near the intersection of First and Charity Streets at around 4PM this afternoon. Police were looking for a Blue Ford Taurus in connection with the slaying. [via]
