On Thursday, March 26th, 2nd district councilman Charles R. Samuels will be holding his first meeting since being elected at Richmond Police’s 4th Precinct building (2219 Chamberlayne Avenue). Items on the agenda: his goals and accomplishments and light refreshments. Hmmm. I wonder where this issue falls on that agenda.

The meeting is scheduled to go from 6:00 to 7:30pm. All 2nd district constituents are invited to attend.

Dovi delves into Gray’s win

Chris Dovi takes a look at Kim Gray’s victory in the 2nd District school board election last week and, with Gray winning all 10 district precincts, calls it “one of the most stunning upsets of the local election”:

Style Weekly stopped by Carver Elementary this morning to see how things were going:

Only about a thousand voters were registered in that precinct before this election cycle began. Now 3,500 people are. The crowd outside the building at 6 a.m. had somewhat dwindled to fill only about half the school’s auditorium by 12:15. [...] As of 12:15, more than 700 people had voted in the precinct.
