HJWA Strategic Plan drafted

The Historic Jackson Ward Association Board has been working with Capital One on a Strategic Plan for the Association (PDF) for some time. A working draft of that Strategic Plan has been approved by the Board, and the Board wants and needs membership input and feedback on the various goals and objectives.

The winter issue of The Ward (PDF), the Historic Jackson Ward Association’s newsletter, is now on the way to residents. This issue includes a message from Councilman Pantele that is a kind of update on the non-action on the Jackson Place project, a list of neighborhood businesses (shop locally!), profiles of Aller & Company Jewelers and Moizelles Cleaners, and more.

Rebuilding Together yesterday

The Adult Career Development Center (ACDC) hosted the Rebuilding Together Richmond Day in Jackson Ward yesterday. Members of the the City Lights Partnership (Historic Jackson Ward Association, Black History Museum, RRHA, Technology Resource Connections, ACDC, and Capital One) and volunteers from all over the city came together to to spruce up and renovate homes in Jackson Ward.
