Rumor and the RTD have 7th District Council Representative Delores McQuinn, Tyrone Nelson, and Antoine Green as possible candidates for Mayor-elect Jones’ seat in the House of Delegates:

The Rev. Tyrone Nelson, pastor of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, is also considering a bid, as is Antione M. Green, president of the Richmond Crusade for Voters, who worked this past General Assembly session as legislative aide to Del. Joseph D. Morrissey, D-Henrico. He also serves as treasurer of the Metro Richmond Area Young Democrats.

Central to the RTD’s look at the vitality of city churches is the example of Rev. Tyrone Nelson and Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church and its growing congregation.
